My Travel Dreams Are Taking Flight
🌍 ¡Hola y Bienvenidos!
Welcome to my corner of the travel world! I’m Suzi—caregiver by day, dream-chaser always—and I’m so glad you’re here.
Ever since I can remember, I’ve had the travel bug. My first time off the continental 48 was a cruise with my grandmother and my aunt when I was 14. I thought it was the most amazing thing to take one trip and be able to see so many places. There is something magical about stepping into a new place, hearing a language I love, tasting something I’ve never tried before (vegetarian, of course!), and soaking up the rhythm of life in a different culture. Traveling opens my heart and mind every single time—and I’m just getting started.
🌟My dream? To visit every Spanish-speaking country in the world. As a non-native Spanish speaker myself, I’m deeply passionate about the language, culture, history, and people who bring it all to life. I want to explore it all—from the tango-filled streets of Buenos Aires, to the vibrant art scene of Mexico City, to the untouched beauty of the Galápagos Islands off the coast of Ecuador. But, I can’t discount Europe. Each time I come back from Europe, I am convinced I am a little more European.
So far, I’ve made it to Europe, Central America, and South America, and I can honestly say each destination has changed me for the better. Whether I’m hiking Arenal Volcano in Costa Rica, walking through an old European village, or tasting fresh tropical fruit in a bustling market, I’m always searching for connection—with the world, and with myself.
As I continue this journey, I’m excited to share not just the places I go, but the stories, tips, and experiences that make each trip meaningful.
✈️ 3 Tips for First-Time and Experienced Travelers
- Pack Light, Pack Smart – Trust me, you won’t need five pairs of shoes. A well-packed carry-on and a solid daypack are all you really need to feel free and flexible. Think capsule wardrobe-where everything matches and you can make many more outfits out of just a few clothing items.
- Plan, but Leave Room for Magic – Do your research (I LOVE planning and researching trips!), but always leave space for spontaneous moments. That unexpected cafe or street festival might become the highlight of your trip. Once I accidentally ran into the Tour de France in Paris. Talk about a magical moment!
- Learn a Few Phrases – Even a simple “hello” or “thank you” in the local language can go a long way. It shows respect and usually earns a smile—or even a new friend.
🧳 3 Travel Items I Never Leave Home Without
- All the charging things– I have a fantastic outlet converter that has served me well all over Europe. It allows me to plug things in with US connections but also has USB and USB-C ports in it. I can charge just about everything I can think of with it-I even charge my portable chargers.
- Blue tooth sleep/face mask – This traveler needs her sleep! This mask has speakers inside of it so whether I am trying to sleep on a plane, or drown out the noise of sharing a roommate, this mask blocks out everything. It is a total game changer.
- Reusable Water Bottle – Staying hydrated is key, and I try to travel sustainably wherever I go. I have never had a problem with drinking water in another country, but many do. Please be sure tap water is potable. If you are worried, you can get a life straw to filter the water straight from your water bottle.

Suzi
